Using your Workspace

Your Workspace keeps all your documents together, in sync and available anywhere. From there, you and other Workspace Members can inspect designs, export assets, share feedback, manage Members, invite Guests and much more — and in any browser.

Workspaces are a subscription-only feature. If you currently have a Mac-only license but are interested in Workspaces, you can switch to a subscription at any time.

Using the Command Bar

The Command Bar makes it quick and easy to navigate your Workspace, organize documents, and work with your designs in the web app, all without leaving your keyboard.

To open the Command Bar, press K (or CtrlK on Windows and Linux). You’ll see a list of relevant commands below the search field — start typing to filter the list, use ↑ ↓ to select a command, then press to action it.

You can use the Command Bar in the web app to quickly navigate your Workspace, organize documents and work with designs.

You’ll see different available commands depending on where you are in the web app and what you have selected. Some are always present (like switching between Workspaces or toggling Light and Dark mode), while others appear only in specific contexts.

Here are the commands you’ll find in different areas of the web app:

  • Navigate to any Workspace
  • Go to your inbox
  • Switch between Light and Dark mode

With a document or folder selected:

  • Move, archive, or trash it
  • Rename subfolders in My Drafts
  • Search for documents and folders by name
  • Toggle between Inspect, Comments, and Versions modes
  • Export the selected layer or design tokens
  • Copy CSS or an inspect link for the selected element in Inspect mode
  • Duplicate the document, edit its settings, create a preview, or move it to the trash

With the inbox open:

  • Mark all notifications as read
  • Jump to the most recent unread notification
  • Sort by newest or oldest first
  • Filter by notification type or Workspace

With a notification selected:

  • Mark as read or unread, pin or unpin, follow or unfollow
  • Open the document, or go to the Workspace
  • Open or accept a Workspace invite
  • Download an asset
  • Close the notification

Some commands open a submenu instead of running immediately. You can navigate back by pressing Esc or Backspace.

Creating additional Workspaces

To create an additional Workspace, sign in to the web app, select the Workspace switcher menu on the top left, choose Create a New Workspace, give it a name and (optionally) upload a Workspace image. You can create more Workspaces during your trial, but you’ll need to pay right away for any additional ones.

Admins can change the name and logo of your Workspace at any point in the General section in the Workspace’s settings tab. You’ll need to add a credit card and billing details for every additional Workspace you create.
