The Inspector

1 min read

In the Inspector, you’ll find settings for any layers you’ve selected, or controls for the tool you’re using. The Inspector hides and shows these controls and settings based on what you have selected or what you’re doing.

A closer look at the Inspector — where you adjust everything about a selected layer, from position and size to fills and effects

  1. Preview & Prototyping lets you preview your prototypes and define how screens connect. From here, you can add target frames, set animations, and fix layers in place while scrolling.
  2. Alignment options become available when you select one or more layers.
  3. Layer properties allow you to adjust a layer’s position, rotation, and orientation. You can also flip layers horizontally or vertically.
  4. Layout gives you control over the size of your layers or selection. From here, you can adjust dimensions and define sizing behavior.
  5. Style lets you apply, create, update, or detach Layer Styles paint.brush as well as set the opacity of your selection. From here, you can also adjust Corners and add Fills, Borders, Shadows, and Effects to your layers.
  6. Selection colors shows all the colors in your selection, grouped by type and sorted by frequency. Hover over the color swatch to highlight matching layers on the canvas, or click it to update them all at once. This section only appears when you have layers or a container selected.
  7. Export lets you add export options and presets to your currently selected frame or layer. The fastest way to export is to press E to open the Export Assets dialog.
