4.3 Advanced interactions

In this lesson, we’ll show you how to make interactions in your prototype richer. You’ll learn how to use hover and press interactions to trigger overlays, or hide or show specific layers overlay with each click or tap.

Some UI in this video is outdated as of September 2024 — no worries, this doesn’t affect how things work. We’ll share an updated version soon!

Key learnings

  • Hover changes a layer’s visibility when the cursor is within its bounds.

  • Press changes a layer’s visibility when you press on the layer with your cursor or finger.

  • Toggle options change the layer’s visibility every time you click on it in the prototype.

  • Custom Layer Visibility allows you to selectively show and hide layers, groups, and Symbols when a user interacts with them in the prototype player.

  • How do you duplicate a document?

To duplicate a document to your Workspace, click on Three dots in the top bar and choose Duplicate to My Drafts. Have fun!
