Take designs to the next level

This course will show you how to design faster and more consistently with components. You’ll learn how to make your designs interactive and tangible with Sketch’s native prototyping features, and we’ll cover everything you need to successfully handoff your design.

Some UI in this course is outdated as of September 2024 — no worries, this doesn’t affect how things work. We’ll share an updated version soon!

Unlock the power of components and Libraries to keep your designs consistent

Discover how to use Symbols, Color Variables and Styles in your documents and turn them into Libraries to reuse them across your designs. Learn how to keep designs consistent as they scale and streamline the design process.

Bring your designs to life with prototypes and developer handoff

Learn how to create fully interactive prototypes that help you quickly iterate and take your designs to the next level. To wrap things up, we’ll dig into developer handoff and you’ll learn how to prep your designs for developers, so they can turn your pixels into code.

What you’ll learn

  • How to keep your designs consistent with Symbols, Styles, and Color Variables

  • How to build Libraries and reuse them across multiple documents

  • How to create interactive prototypes and prepare your design for handoff

Course lessons

We’ll begin by learning all about the different types of components that make up a design. We’ll then explore the power of Libraries and deep-dive into all things prototyping. To round it off, we’ll cover how to ensure a successful developer handoff.

Requirements

To successfully complete this course, you’ll need:

  • A Sketch Account — if you don’t have one, you can create your Sketch Account in seconds.

  • Basic Sketch knowledge — if you’re completely new to Sketch, we recommend taking our intro course first so you can make the most of Sketch 102.

  • macOS Ventura (13.0.0) or newer to run the Mac app.
